From Insights to Action: What Works to Improve Fairness at Work
9 in 10 Australian employers have a gender equality plan in place. But the path from plan to outcomes isn’t always straightforward. The Workplace Gender Equality Agency is giving leaders who are actively involved in the development and implementation of their organization’s Gender Equality Action Plan – from People & Culture leaders, HR / DEI teams and others involved in driving fairness at work – the opportunity to hear from Harvard researcher and workplace fairness expert Siri Chilazi and WGEA CEO Mary Wooldridge.
Siri’s work is dedicated to analyzing the actions that lead to fairness at work – and those that don’t. Her research has gone beyond the lab, working with real employers to build fairness into their business. In this conversation, Siri and Mary will discuss:
- Where Australian employers are making progress on fairness, and where hotspots remain
- What really works to improve fairness at work and why
- How to tackle sticky problems like bias, occupational segregation and men taking parental leave
Siri will also cover the findings from her timely new book Make Work Fair, which lays out the evidence, tested at workplaces like yours, for how you can make fairness at work a reality – no matter your role, seniority, responsibilities, or where you are in the world.
